The Writer

  Hello, friend…it is a joy indeed to welcome you to my country diary!

I am Kelly-Anne, a somewhat old-fashioned young lady with a love for the country, teacups, handwritten letters and that which relates to Biblical womanhood and homemaking...

It is my sincerest desire to glorify my Lord, Jesus Christ in everything I do, every word I utter and every thought that runs through my mind…  I am a work in progress, though, and I am truly thankful and humbled that I have a loving Saviour who sacrificed Himself on the cross for the weight of my sins…

I want to encourage other young women in their God~given femininity and challenge them to surrender to His plans for them, for they are great indeed!

At nineteen years of age, I am the eldest of seven children; six girls with a little boy born this April.  Caleb has filled our home and hearts with love and joy from the moment of his arrival.  You can meet my family by stopping by here…

I have been home educated my whole life except for a few short months spent at a private school when I was eight…I feel very blessed to have enjoyed my childhood at home, learning new things every day and growing in grace and love under the watchful eye of my dear mother whom I admire and love so very much…her example is beautiful.

Now I devote my days to serving my family as a daughter at home and running my little sewing business, Heartmade, which was established in July of 2014, until the Lord shows me what He has next for me...  I want to bring honour to His name whilst living at home and preparing for the blessed calling of raising a family of my own someday, should He see fit, that is.

I write to share the many blessings {and trials} of this rich, wonderful life that God has given to me and hopefully inspire other young ladies to pursue the Lord in their years of young womanhood and beyond…  Recipes, craft tutorials, sewing projects and my thoughts on Biblical womanhood can be found on The Diary of a Country Girl, as well as ponderings on my love of the country and all things old-fashioned

I am a lover of…vintage, pink, The Bible, flowers, all things old~fashioned, teacups, journals, time period dramas, letters, sweet friendships, high tea parties and beautiful gardens…

I enjoy doing a vast many different things including…

…walking along the gravel roads surrounding our farm with our dogs, sewing a little of my own clothing and products for my shoppe, Heartmade, writing posts of inspiration and encouragement for my blog, crafting with pretty paper, listening to beautiful music such as soundtracks from my favourite time period films, reading good literature{where time allows}, working in our family’s vegetable garden where we grow as many greens and vegetables as we can, cooking healthy, nutritious meals, perusing Pinterest and reading inspirational blogs, baking delightful sweet treats, writing letters to sweet friends overseas, spending time with my lovely sisters talking and laughing, researching self-sufficiency and farming and watching delightful BBC series such as Wives and Daughters and Pride and Prejudice

One of my dearest wishes is to open a tea room of my own someday…I have a passion for cooking and using fresh, homegrown ingredients from my garden to enhance the flavour of simple fare...  I developed my love of cooking from a young age, and having many younger siblings has given me plenty of opportunity for practice, for they are wonderful critiques indeed…{{smiles}}

 Join me as I share my thoughts on Biblical womanhood and homemaking, creative projects and ideas, my love for the country and musings of this beautiful life I am blessed to live…
